Robert A. Signorino ("Bob"), age 91, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, SC, just shy of his 92nd birthday.
Born in Elizabeth NJ, Bob was the first of four children of the late Peter and Ella (Blazosky) Signorino. Robert enlisted and served in the United States Army during the Korean War and went on to attend Penn State University and ultimately graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson College. In 1962 Bob was given the opportunity to join the credit analyst training program at Chemical Bank because the woman in human resources "liked my curly hair". The Chemical Bank opportunity led to a thirty-five-year professional career in finance wherein he specialized in pensions and investments administration for a number of major money-center banks in New York City. Having raised their family predominantly in Morris Plains, NJ, Robert and his wife Carolyn retired to Pawleys Island, SC in 1999. Upon arrival he embraced his Pawley's Island community and during his years of service rose to become a Fourth Degree Member of the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Bob also enjoyed keeping tabs on the accomplishments of his five grandchildren over the years and was a devoted New York Jets and the Chicago Cubs fan. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn J. Signorino (Panarauskas), his grandson Benjamin Robert Hoffman and a brother, Frederick M. Signorino.
Survivors include his four children, Robert A. Signorino, Jr. and his wife Adrienne of Basking Ridge, NJ, Ronald Signorino of Morris Plains, NJ, Jill (Signorino) Hoffman and her husband Benjamin of Elizabethtown, PA and Cynthia Signorino of Pawleys Island, SC; grandchildren, Juliana Signorino, Katherine Signorino, Robert Signorino, Lauren Hoffman and Caroline Signorino. He's also survived by his brother Don Signorino and his wife Adeline as well as his sister, Evelyn Gaylord.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church in Pawleys Island, SC. Robert will be inurned in the Church's Columbarium immediately following the mass.
