Roberta Kay Cottrill was born on October 9, 1951 in Clarksburg, WV the daughter of the late Robert E. Cottrill and Kathryn G. Cottrill.
Kay was preceded in death by her brother John William Cottrill.
Surviving is her sister and brother in law, Barbara and Richard laquinta of Clarksburg and her sister in law Sharon Cottrill Reeves of Philippi. Also surviving is her beloved nephew & Godson, Christopher James laquinta of San Diego, CA.
She graduated from Washington Irving High School and was a 1974 graduate of Fairmont State University. She was a licensed social worker and a licensed nursing home administrator and worked in long term care since 1981. Kay was employed by United Hospital Center for 23 years and most recently was the Administrator of St. Barbara's Memorial Nursing Home. She was an independent health care consultant after her retirement. She was a past member of the Board of Directors of the WV Health Care Association and was named a Distinguished Administrator of the Year. She was a long-standing member of the WV Network of Ethics Committee and was appointed to the WV Nursing Home Administrator's Licensing Board. Kay was a member of and past president of the Board of Directors of Health Access, Inc. She worked to make a difference in the lives of the residents in nursing homes in WV.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church. Kay loved nature and animals of all kinds. She was an avid gardener and was never happier than when she was working in her gardens.
