Clinton "Rocky" Stamps, age 48, of Cypress, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025. He was born on March 25, 1977, in San Francisco, California, to the late Thomas Jared Stamps and Lynda Gail (McKinney) Stamps.
Rocky is lovingly remembered by his large, eclectic family: his daughters, Rorie Stamps, Rylie Stamps, and Bryanna Vela; his sons, Mark Carson and Chris Carson (Ashley); and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Braden, and Braxton. He is also survived by his siblings: Chris Berry (Stephanie), Eddie Berry, Jared Stamps (Judy), Cody Brooks, Doug Berry, James Berry (Susanna), and Julie Coxie (Eddie); his honorary stepmother, Debbie Berry; his aunts Kathy Wockenfus and Carolyn (Arnold) Reynolds and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Bill McKinney; Maxine and Doug Cox; Thomas Henry & Ruth Dean Stamps; his sister, Stacy Stamps Baker; his brother, Casey Berry; his honorary stepfather, Gene Berry; his aunt, Sharon Flores; his uncles Leo Wockenfus and Billy Crosby.
Rocky had an enduring love for sports. His lifelong love of football carried added meaning through his father's legacy as a former player for the Pittsburgh Steelers-a source of family pride that Rocky held close. He also loved music and collected guitars. He especially enjoyed attending concerts – a passion he shared with his brothers.
He shared a deep affection for his dogs-Ahyoka, Debo, Lobo, Cujo, and Mama-who were constant companions and brought him unconditional love and laughter. Their presence was a comfort and joy through every season of life.
Above all, Rocky cherished his family. He was a devoted father who helped raise his children with care and love, maintaining a close bond through cherished weekend visits and heartfelt conversations. He often said, "My kids are the best thing I've ever done," and that sentiment held true throughout his life.
When diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic kidney cancer four years ago, Rocky faced it with remarkable strength and resilience. Many believe it was the laughter, devotion, and companionship of his daughters that gave him the courage to fight for more time than anyone expected. Their love became the anchor through his most difficult days. He will be remembered for the love he carried and the imprint he left on his children's lives.
The family wishes to thank MD Anderson The Woodlands for their amazing care. Especially Dr. Craig Kovitz and his team.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 18th at 10:00 AM at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street, Tomball, Texas 77375, with Pastor Stephen Baliff officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research, in honor of his mother, Lynda Gail Stamps. Or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Rocky was always so heartbroken seeing the children fighting cancer.
