Mildred "Milly" Rose Schoen (Simon)

Mildred "Milly" Rose Schoen (Simon) of St. Michael-a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend-passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025.

Milly was born on January 17, 1940, to Albin and Leona (Scherer) Simon. On September 3, 1960, she married the love of her life, Jack Schoen, in Cold Spring. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with six children: Mike (Nancy), Sandy (Jerry) Lindenfelser, Pat (Nadine), Jeff (Betty), Jon (Kris), and Gary (Amy).

Milly lived a life filled with creativity, kindness, faith, and love. She enjoyed playing the piano, working on crafts and puzzles, and taking walks, but her greatest joy was found in painting. Her watercolors reflected the beauty she saw in the world and the warmth she carried in her heart. Beyond her artistry, Milly found her true happiness in the simple gift of time with her family. Her home was always a gathering place of laughter, love, and welcome.

Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. Milly was an active member of her parish community and drew great strength, comfort, and joy from her church. She lived out her faith daily through her kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family and friends.

She also had a lifelong affection for animals, especially dogs, who were her loyal companions through the years. Her gentle spirit and nurturing heart touched not only her family and friends, but every creature she cared for.

Milly is survived by her six children and their spouses, 19 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, with two more soon to arrive. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack, her parents, Albin and Leona (Scherer) Simon; siblings Eileen Jonas, Dorothy Schouviller, Leon "Red" Simon, and Melvin "Doc" Simon; and her in-laws.

Milly will be remembered for her gentle strength, her creative soul, her deep faith, and the love she poured into every part of her life. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, the faith she cherished, and the beauty she shared through her art.

The Schoen family would like to extend a special thank you to Triniti Hospice, The Staff at Guardian Angels Engle Haus and Guardian Angels Riverview Landing for their compassionate care and support.
