Roger Brooks Conklin, 75, of Meadville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2025.

Born and raised in Meadville, Roger spent several years living at the Lake of the Ozarks before returning to the town he always called home. He graduated from Versailles High School in 1968 and later retired from Brookfield Fabrication, though those who knew him would say he was truly a jack of all trades. One of his many talents was working with stone - building strong, beautiful seawalls at the lake that still stand today.

Roger loved the outdoors. He took great pride in his garden, enjoyed fishing and camping, and was always happiest surrounded by nature. He was a great neighbor, a loyal friend, and someone whose sense of humor and unmistakable laugh brought comfort and joy to everyone around him.

He is survived by his three children: Jessica Cressley of Tipton, Missouri; Heather Smith of Brownsburg, Indiana; and Brandon Conklin of Meadville, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Gary Conklin of Gravoismills, Missouri, and his sister, Sandra Conklin of Meadville, Missouri.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Ramah and Delbert Conklin of Meadville.

A private viewing for family was held on July 15, 2025. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations toward the creation of a community garden in the Conklin family name checks payable to Heather Smith - a lasting tribute to their love of gardening, their love of the community, and their generous spirit.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
