Roger Lee Harper, age 71, of Jefferson, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 4, 1954, to parents Oscar and Mary Harper. Roger married Helen Louise Varner "Louise" on May 15, 1974, in Oakland, Maryland. He drove truck for Wach's Disposal, Shoreline Trucking, Waste Management and retired from Welshfield Trucking. Roger loved to hunt and fish, whether it was going to West Virginia for deer season or fishing in the pond with his grandchildren. He loved to attend all five of his grandchildren's various sporting events. He also was very good at working on cars and trucks. On weekends, in his spare time, he enjoyed shopping with his wife Louise before she passed away. Roger is survived by his children, Michelle (Nelson) Martel, Leslie (Jeff) Winfield, Heather (Jake) Rice; grandchildren, Marissa and Dylan Martel, Haylee Winfield, Keagan and Kinley Rice; siblings, Joyce Varner, Roy Harper and Mary Ellen Delaney. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Harper; parents, Oscar and Mary Harper; siblings, Charles Harper, Madeline Kirkpatrick, Bernice Hamrick, Jimmy Harper, Ralph Harper, and Elsie Harper. A Graveside Service and Burial will be held at 12pm on July 11, 2025, at Fairview Memorial Park, Madison, Ohio. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice of the Western Reserve for their great care.
