Roger Dale King, 81 of Belton, SC passed away June 26, 2025, at his residence. Born in Belton on June 15, 1944, he was the son of the late Clyde and Margaret King. Roger was an avid Gamecocks and Ford automotive fan. He retired from his own body shop business, King Collision, after working for over 40 years with Guy Motors, Fairway Ford and Carriage House. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Belton and attended Second Baptist for over 40 years prior.
Roger is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Ford King; daughters, Stacie (Terry) Griffin and Lori (Michael) Locke, and son Erik C. King; grandchildren, Sid (Maddie) Locke, Lillie Locke, Max Locke, Meg Griffin and Emily King; great granddaughter Adalyn Locke; brother, Bennie King, and sisters, Sylia King, and Jani (Tommy) Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.
Roger was predeceased by an infant son, Kevin King, brothers, Larry King and infant Jimmy King and sister, Norma Rogers.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00pm Monday, June 30, 2025, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Lynch and Rev. Nick Kirby officiating. Burial will follow service at Garden of Memories.
Visitation will be from 10:00am until 11:45am at Cox Funeral Home prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Belton or Traditions Health Hospice Care of Greenville.
The family will be at their respective homes.
Cox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
