Roger Clark Nims, 87, of Lisbon ND passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at CHI Hospital in Lisbon.
Roger was born on January 31, 1938, to Clark and Evelyn (Potter) Nims at the family farm west of Lisbon. He attended Island Park #1 rural school for 8 years, and then attended high school in Lisbon graduating in 1956. After graduation, he farmed with his father and brother Alan on the family farm. His favorite things on the farm were harvest time in his '95 combine and working with the cattle. After an injury on the farm, he had to leave farming. He worked for a few years on the mail truck between Lisbon and Fargo, and then worked Security at Bobcat for over 27 years until his retirement.
In July 1978, he married his wife Barbara Groth and they were blessed with a son Michael in 1985. Roger was a loving man, father, and great uncle. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing cards. He was an avid Bronco fan as he followed his son, nieces and nephews thru their sport years, and is also a NDSU Bison follower. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church and UMC Men's club.
He is survived by his wife Barb, and son Michael (Mary Melicher – special friend) and his granddaughters Bailey and Alivia; Alan (Sylvia) Nims, Brad (Cindy) Nims and family, Lori (Mike) Lyons and family, Mona (Eric) Spalsbury, Scott (Colleen) Timms, and Lisa (Rich) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clark & Evelyn Nims, his niece Terri Nims, and nephew Ronny Hogarth.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at the United Methodist Church in Lisbon. Roger's service will be live streamed below. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery near Lisbon.
