Roger Pierce Obituary

Roger Howard Pierce of Bolingbrook IL passed away on June 18 th, 2025.
Roger was born June 14, 1946 in Jackson Michigan to Hugh and Winona Pierce.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother Thomas and a sister Mary.
Roger graduated from Jackson High School and went on to graduate with a teaching
degree from Western Michigan University and master's degree from Northern Illinois
University. He went on to teach at both Naperville Central and Naperville North High
Schools. He also taught classes at College of DuPage for almost 20 years. Later he
worked for AT&T, Central DuPage Hospital and before retirement he was Director of
Construction for the Edward Health System and Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals. There
he had many good friends and after his retirement he loved to spend time with them.
He married his high school sweetheart, Jane Fryer Pierce on August 24 th, 1968. They
were married for 56 years.
Roger is survived by his wife, Jane and children, Scott (Debbie) Pierce, Amy (Greg)
Hanna, and Allison (Martin) Uscila.
The thing he enjoyed the very most were his grandchildren, Brady Kent, Claire Hanna,
Megan Pierce, Terra Pierce, Ryan Uscila, Grant Uscila and Reece Uscila.
Roger enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved his family and friends and especially loved
going with them to the family summer home in the Michigan Upper Peninsula at any
time of the year!!
A memorial service for our beloved husband, father and grandfather will be held
Thursday, July 31 st at Friendship United Methodist Church, 305 E. Boughton Rd. in
Bolingbrook IL.
Visitation and refreshments will begin at 5:00 p.m. and Celebration of Life Memorial
Service will begin at 6:00 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Bolingbrook Friendship
United Methodist Church and their church ministries and missions around the world as
they serve Christ by serving others!
