Ronald "Ron" Anderson, 73, passed away on July 2, 2025, during his yearly family vacation to Madeira Beach Florida.
He was born in Muncie on December 28, 1951, the son of Dick and Liz Anderson. Ron was a Southside Rebel, played on the High School varsity basketball team from 1967-1970 and graduated from Southside in 1970. Ron met Trudy Strawser in 1968, and they quickly became high school sweethearts. On October 11, 1975, he married the love of his life Trudy. Ron and Trudy were together for 57 years and married for almost 50 of those wonderful years.
Ron drove the big brown truck at UPS for 41 years until his retirement in June of 2014. During those years he never met a stranger, and he was one of the most popular and well known "UPS" guys. In his younger years, Ron loved playing softball and basketball with his brother Rick and the Oasis crew. He was also active in several bowling leagues throughout the years with his friends and family.
Ron loved his family more than anything. He was always playing taxi driver for his daughters and their friends, running around town with Trudy and then eventually being the greatest Pa any kid could ask for. He rarely missed a soccer match, little league game, football or basketball game that Blake and Caleb played in. His granddaughter Maggie was a volleyball player and cheerleader, and he enjoyed watching her on every court.
For the first several years of his grandson Kai's life, he and Trudy traveled to Noblesville to be his babysitters. The trips didn't stop even after Weston was born and they started daycare. Instead of babysitting they would go to parks, run around to different stores or end up playing with some gadget that he found to bring to the boys.
Ron and his family traveled to Madeira Beach every summer for a few weeks, and he looked forward to that time. He loved to sit on the balcony, read the paper, drink his coffee and people watch. During this vacation he also loved to fish with his grandkids, try new restaurants and visit with all his Mad Beach vacation family.
Ron was loved by so many, and he blessed our lives for 73 years. He was "Our Big Guy", a kindhearted teddy bear and he will be missed by many friends and family.
Ron is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Trudy Anderson; daughters, Cortney (Ben) Jones and Ashley (Mark) Aiken; grandchildren, Blake, Caleb, Maggie, Kai and Weston; brother Rick (Betty) Anderson; brother-in-law, Larry Strawser; nephew Scott (Jordan) Anderson; niece, Laura (Kevin) Poll, his fur babies, Toodles and Snowball.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Liz Anderson; and his in-laws, Lowell and Alice Strawser.
Friends and family may call from 2:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service which will begin at 4:00pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.

My condolences to Ron's family. Ron and I were classmates
at St. Lawrence school for many years. Also, Ron was an excellent bowler
and very good fast pitch softball player. I always enjoyed being in Ron's
company as he had a great smile and laugh. Great personality.
RIP Ron. Your friend, Daniel Harrold.
