Ron Dregney, known to many as “Ronnie”, age 80 of Mondovi, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at his home on July 30, 2025, following a brief battle with cancer.
Ron was born on October 23, 1944, and he grew up in Modena, Wisconsin. A hardworking man with a deep connection to the land, Ron spent his life working outdoors. He made a living through logging, farming, and operating his own excavation business – trades that reflected his determination, resilience and dedication.
On September7, 1963, Ron married the love of his life, Beverly Peterson at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi. Together they built a life rooted in hard work, shared adventures, and deep family bonds. They enjoyed traveling, going dancing, and making memories along the way.
Ron was known for his love of the outdoors – whether hunting, fishing, or helping around the farm. He found joy in spending time with family and friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His quiet strength and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his sons, David (Missy) and Danny: grandchildren, Joshua (Mackenzie) Dregney and KaitLynne ( Tyler) Gunderson: great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Blair, Talan, Noxan, and Haysan; and sister-in-law, Joanne Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly; his parents, Norman and Ida (Sandberg) Dregney; mother-in-law Hazel Peterson; his brother, Neil Dregney; sister, Carol Dutter; brother-in-law, Dave Dutter; and special friend Rosemary Kent.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9th and 12:00 p.m. at the home of Dave and Missy Dregney, S432 Sand Road, Mondovi, WI. All are welcome to attend and share memories.
