Ronald M. Jacobsen, son of Ernest and Myrtle (Madsen) Jacobsen, was born on March 28, 1931, in Ringsted, Iowa. He passed away at Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa on July 23, 2025, at the age of 94 years.

Ron was baptized on April 29, 1931, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringsted, and later confirmed at the same church. Ron attended his early education in the country school and graduated from Ringsted High School in 1950. He entered the United States Marine Corps in February of 1952. While home on leave he was united in marriage to Rojean Planting on February 12, 1953, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringsted. He returned to service to finish his tour in Korea and was honorably discharged a year later on February 10, 1954. At that time, he returned home to his young bride and made their home in the Ringsted area. A short time later he began his 46 year long career at Stall's Farm and Home Store in Estherville.

Ron was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville. He enjoyed his time spent while serving on the Estherville High School Coop Program and Estherville Chamber of Commerce boards. He was a proud lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion Posts. Ron was an outdoorsman and liked to hunt and fish. Watching the Minnesota Twins or the Iowa Hawkeyes were always a joy for him. He loved country music, watching westerns, going to Branson. Ron enjoyed coffee time with the guys and playing cards.

The most important thing in Ron's life was his family. He spent every moment he could with his grandchildren, teaching them both how to expertly mow lawns. He truly cherished his time with his great-grandchildren, and his face lit up with joy when they visited.

Ronald is survived by his son Douglas (Marcine) Jacobsen of Estherville; his grandson Curtus (Carissa) Jacobsen; his granddaughter Christina (Ben) Ullom; and his great-grandchildren Claire, Chloe, and Cole Jacobsen and Jace and Avalynn Ullom. Ron is also survived by his brothers Myron Jacobsen, Lloyd (Sue) Jacobsen, and Jerry (Becky) Jacobsen; his brother-in-law Andy Swalve; and his sister-in-law Marcia Jacobsen.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Rojean; his brothers David (Joyce), James, and Leroy; his sister Wanda (Don) Christensen; his sister-in-law Rozella Swalve; and brothers-in-law Russell (EmmaJean) Planting and Robert Planting.
