Ronald Gene Miller, born June 2, 1928, in Elwood, Indiana, was the eldest of three sons of Weldon and Mary (Shively) Miller. He graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1946 and earned a degree from Purdue University in 1951. On February 3, 1951, he married Rosemary Leonard at her parents' home in Hamilton County. After graduating, Ron served as Assistant County Agent in Clinton County before joining Clinton County Bank and Trust Company in Frankfort, where he enrolled in their management training program. In February 1956, he returned to Hamilton County, joining American National Bank (ANB) in Noblesville as an assistant cashier and farm representative. A 1964 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking, he also completed courses through the American Institute of Banking. Ron rose through the ranks at ANB, becoming assistant vice president in 1962, vice president and senior loan officer in 1967, executive vice president in 1979, and president on February 1, 1985. He guided the bank through its acquisition by AmeriTrust in May 1986, retiring on May 31, 1990, after 36 years, primarily in the loan department. He served on the Hamilton County AmeriTrust Advisory Board until Society Bank, later acquired by KeyBank, took over. Ron always appreciated the wonderful people he worked with and the community that he served. Outside banking, Ron was passionate about farming. After work, he joined his father and brother Keith to tend the family farm, managing livestock and preparing the land. Alongside his son Leonard, he revitalized struggling farms, turning them into productive fields. Ron was deeply engaged in civic life, serving on the boards of the Indiana Bankers Association, Noblesville Boys & Girls Club, and Noblesville Chamber of Commerce. He was a Hamilton Heights School Board member in the late 1960s and early 1970s and a dedicated member of Omega Christian Church, where he served as treasurer for many years. Ron is survived by his wife of nearly 75 years, Rosemary; daughters Rosann (Art) Johnson and Sharon Miller; grandsons Jeremy (Sandi) Miller, Joe (Anna) Miller, and Steve (Tracy) Johnson; eight great-grandchildren-Dusty, Katie, Ellie, Ethan, Tyler, Henry, Sam, and Kaleb; and brother Bob (Barbara) Miller. He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Linda (Galloway) Miller, and brother Keith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Omega Christian Church in memory of Ron. Visitation for Ron will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, Indiana, 46034. The funeral service will follow visitation and take place at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Arcadia Cemetery. In celebrating Ron's life, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photographs on his memorial page. These contributions will serve as a comforting keepsake for her family and a beautiful testament to Ron's vibrant life.

Rosemary and family, I am so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was such a wonderful man. Mom and dad held him in highest esteem. Please know that I think of you both often, reminiscing of the fun times. You and Ron were very special to mom and dad and held close in their hearts. I so truly miss all of the wonderful people who were friends of my parents and a special part of my life as I grew up in rural Indiana. My heartfelt thoughts are with you.

Mr. Miller was a "ONE in a Million" Gentleman! We will forever be grateful to him for his belief in us, as we started our business in the early 1970's. He was a blessing in our lives ~ Steve and Mary Baker
