Ronnie McClanahan, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, in Andrews, Texas. Born on December 13, 1947, in Shamrock, Texas, Ronnie's life was a testament to the values of family, faith, and friendship that he held dear.
Ronnie was born in Shamrock, Texas. He spent his early years in the close-knit community of Clovis, NM, where he developed a foundation of hard work and integrity. He attended Clovis High School and Andrews High School where he formed lifelong friendships and laid the groundwork for his future endeavors. Ronnie's career in transportation management spanned several decades, with dedicated service at Falcon Trucking for 20 years and KV Power for nine years before his well-deserved retirement.
Above all, Ronnie was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Nora Alexander McClanahan of Andrews, Texas. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with shared adventures and unwavering support for one another. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including daughters Tina Morrison and husband Bill of San Angelo, Texas, Amy Hoffman and husband Bryan of Andrews, Texas, and son Josh McClanahan and wife Isadora of Andrews, Texas.
Ronnie's pride and joy are his grandchildren GK Morrison and wife Addi of Lubbock, TX, Chelsea Dolgener and husband Chisum, Lindsey Spring and husband Travis, Cameron McClanahan and Molly Mattson, Emma McClanahan and great grand-children Ryker Eisenbach, Axel Spring and Rylee Spring all of Andrews, TX. The extended family includes his adored mother-in-law Charlene Alexander of Andrews, TX and numerous other loving family and friends.
Ronnie is reunited with his parents, Billie Arnold McClanahan Moore and Ray McClanahan, his cherished grandsons, Gavin Shey Morrison and Nakoa McClanahan, his adored grandmother, Ora McClanahan and his respected father-in-law, Bryan "T-Daddy" Alexander, in eternal peace.
Ronnie's interests were a reflection of his vibrant spirit. He had a deep passion for motorcycles and cars, especially street rods. He found joy with his buddies in their Christian motorcycle group, exploring the open roads and sharing their love for adventure. These journeys were made even more special when joined by his wife, Nora, as they rode side by side.
Ronnie McClanahan's life was one of purpose and passion. He touched the lives of many and left a legacy of love that will be carried on by those who knew him. His warm smile, hearty laugh, and the stories he shared will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the life he lived and the positive impact he had on the world around him.
The family of Mr. McClanahan would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Alma Nowell, Home Hospice and Michelle Nelson for the exceptional care they gave Ronnie during his final days.
