Roosevelt Gray (affectionately known as Brother), 91 departed this life Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Capitol Hill Health and Rehab. He was born June 12, 1933 in Sandy Ridge Alabama to the union of the late James and Mamie Gray. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.
Mr. Gray and his wife, Lorene move to Syracuse, New York in 1957. While living in Syracuse, he became a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He retired from Syracuse Concrete and Piping Company. Then retired from Brick School Terrace. In 2006, he moved back to Alabama and lived in Montgomery until God called him home. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was proceeded in death by a loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Lorene Gray; infant daughter, Dayle Evans Gray; parents, James and Mamie Gray; three sisters, Fanny Armstrong, Maggie Britton and Rosie Stuckv; one brother, Johnny Gray; grandson, AJ Huddleston.
Mr. Roosevelt Gray leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his life's memories three daughters, Brenda G. McQueen of Montgomery, Alabama, Barbara C. Brown (Eddie) of Syracuse, New York, and Baretta Huddleston of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two sons, Theodore R. Gray (Jackie) of Montgomery, Alabama and Kevin J. Gray of Syracuse, New York. 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 4 areat-great grandchildren.
Mr. Roosevelt Gray leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his life's memories three daughters, Brenda G. McQueen of Montgomery, Alabama, Barbara C. Brown (Eddie) of Syracuse, New York, and Baretta Huddleston of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two sons, Theodore R. Gray (Jackie) of Montgomery, Alabama and Kevin J. Gray of Syracuse, New York. 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. One Uncle and four aunts. A devoted friend Ophelia Ernest, and a childhood friend of many years, Johnny Quinn. Three sister-in-law's and three brother-in-law's. A host of nieces, nephew's cousins and friends. May he rest in peace and his memory be a blessing.
