Obituary for Rosalie Adeline Anagnost
September 2, 1935 – July 4, 2025
Rosalie Adeline Anagnost, beloved aunt, great-aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on September 2, 1935, Rosalie lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and a deep commitment to helping others.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, William Anagnost, who passed away February 9, 2020. Together, they shared a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to community service, particularly within the Air Force.
Rosalie's legacy of compassion and service is deeply rooted in her many years of volunteer work with Air Force Family Services. Her contributions were recognized through numerous awards and honors, including Volunteer of the Year, induction into the Thousand Hour Club, and several Certificates of Appreciation. Her tireless efforts provided comfort and support to countless families, and her selflessness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Rosalie is survived by her loving nephew James Gugger and his wife Jamie; her devoted niece Susan Noyes and her husband Dan; her great-nephews Eric Gugger and Brian Gugger, his wife Winnifred, and their daughter Gianna, who brought her great joy in her later years and several cousins on her Felix side of the family. She will be remembered as a woman of grace, warmth, and unwavering generosity.
A private family memorial will be held at the Ocean County Memorial Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 to honor Rosalie's remarkable life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) https://afas.org
