Rose Marie Diaz, born to her lovely parents Maria and Modesto Diaz in Harlingen, Texas, on July 8th, 1967, passed away on June 22nd, 2025, at the young age of 57.
A longtime resident of Chicago Heights and a lover of all things from the 80s, she enjoyed singing and dancing to all her favorite songs and even made her own songs to sing to our cat Chiflada. She loved to joke, always made herself laugh out loud, and was a huge believer that there is a song for everything, as she always did have a song for every situation.
After graduating high school as the class of 1985, she went on to attend and complete beauty school and became a licensed cosmetologist in 1987.
She was an amazing cook who also hated to cook. Her famous dishes were Chile Rellenos, brisket, Italian beef sandwiches, and stuffed green peppers. She always ensured that you left her home well fed.
She was a selfless, caring, and loving mother, and this also shone through her personality. If she saw that you were asleep on the couch without a cover, she'd make sure to go grab a cover to cover you up so you wouldn't be cold.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Diaz, and she is survived by her father, Modesto Diaz; her four siblings, Modesto III, Dolores, Grace, and Virginia Diaz; her life partner, Isidro Ramirez; and her three children, Abel Lopez IV, Luis, and Gabriel Ramirez and her granddaughter, Eva Lopez.
A viewing will be held on July 2nd from 5–7 p.m. at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Directors on 50 Westwood Dr, Park Forest, IL. Following that, services will be held on July 3rd at the same location, with viewing from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Mass will begin at 12 p.m. and will conclude at 1 p.m. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Rose, please visit our floral store.
