Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Lee Herrington of Delhi, LA, formerly of Jefferson Davis County, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Carson Baptist Church, with the Reverend Chance Caston officiating and Reverend Curt Herrington assisting. Interment will follow in the Carson Cemetery. Mrs. Herrington, age 76, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Monday morning, July 7, 2025, at her home. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family will receive friends on Friday at Carson Baptist Church, beginning at noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
Rose Lee Herrington was born on November 28, 1948, in Jefferson Davis County to Noah and Hester Dyess Davis. Mrs. Herrington, a former resident of Bassfield, lived in West Monroe, LA, for over 20 years. Afterward, she and her husband retired to Settlers Point on Poverty Point Lake in Delhi, LA. Before her illness, she enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She especially loved spotting the Bald Eagle out on the lake, as well as the many Canadian Geese, Great and Blue Herons, and many Snow Egrets. She was devoted to her family as a wife, mother, and grandmother, and was an aunt to numerous nephews and nieces. Mrs. Herrington was a member of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her siblings, Hollis Davis, Lynda Cappie Davis Whittington, Lillie Davis, Pasha Davis Jackson, Thomas Edwin "Tommy" Davis, Sr., LE Davis, and Duthel Davis Broome.
Rose is survived by her husband, Curtis Herrington, Jr.; son, Curtis Lee Herrington, III (Jamie); and her daughter, Angela Marie Herrington Slavant. The legacy of their Nana will also live on through her grandchildren, whom she adored, Curtis Lee "Curt" Herrington, IV (Makayla), Kayela Herrington Freeman (Adam), Noah Herrington, Valerie Slavant, and Natalee Herrington.
