Rose Marie Marguerite Dubois passed away on July 5, 2025, at 92 years old. She is the wife of the late Gerald Dubois.
Rose is survived by her seven children and their spouses, 15 grandchildren and spouses as well as 16 great grandchildren. She was certainly the matriarch of our family and the glue in organizing extended family gatherings during the holidays and special occasions. There was always something going on at the Dubois' house. She loved family and bringing them together.
Rose Marie was born to Alfred and Louise Parent in Lille, Maine. She was the oldest of 7 children. She was the salutatorian of her graduating class at Our Lady of Wisdom, now Wisdom High School in St. Agatha.
Rose Marie married Gerald in 1954 after he got out of the Army. They wanted a large family and started their family in Northern Maine. They soon moved to Connecticut to work. Rose stopped working when their children multiplied; but later went to work in healthcare at Hartford Hospital. Her door was always open. When the Sisters of the Holy Spirit, who were teaching her children at the time, approached her to take in Walter, a Korean student, she was all in. Walter is still part of our family today, as well as his wife and daughter, Elizabeth and Bridget.
In the 70's Rose and Gerald moved back to Lille, Rose continued to work in healthcare at Van Buren Hospital; and later with the Madawaska School Department working with special needs children. She was active in the Church both at Lille and Grand Isle, and later in St. Agatha where she continued her service in any way she could. She was a charitable supporter of the Marian Priests.
She is survived by children and their spouses, siblings and their spouses, numerous godchildren she loved with all her heart. She will be missed by the family on this earth. She always looked forward to reuniting with her family in heaven and jitterbugging with Gerald, her husband.
Rose's Funeral Service will be in Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, on Monday, July 14, 20205, at 10:00 AM. Her and Geralds burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery, Madawaska, Maine on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Agatha Historical Society, 477 Main Street, St. Agatha, Maine, 04772.
Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Stetson's Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, Maine.
Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Stetson's Funeral Home website, www.stetsonsfuneralhome.com
