Rosemary Davis Obituary

Rosemary Talbot Davis, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, at 96 passed into the loving arms of our Lord on July 2, 2025.
Rosemary was born on October 4, 1928, in Cumberland, Wisconsin. She was a very talented and warm-hearted woman. Unfortunately, that would come to an end when in 2023 she was diagnosed with a rapidly growing cancer and could no longer live on her own. Her family assisted in taking care of her so she could spend her final days in her family home on Beaver Dam Lake.
Rosemary is survived by: her children, Bruce (Marie) Davis, Katherine Davis, and Karen (Dennis) Jergenson; grandchildren, Thomas (Kristin) Davis, Jacob Davis and Erik (Emily) Jergenson; great grandchildren, Alexis, Caleb and Connor Davis, Paisley Ann Jergenson; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her: husband, Conrad Davis; partner, James Brecka; daughter, Rosemary V. Davis; her parents, Vernice and William G. Talbot; and siblings, John (Helen) Talbot, Betty (Walt) Knutson and Nancy (Victor) Satterlund.
Rosemary's hobbies and interests helped define who she was. From an early age, she developed a love for all textiles, making quilts, needlework and even spinning yarn which she learned from her mother and grandmothers. She especially loved collecting and making quilts, often providing historic information about them to interested parties. She also adopted her parent's love for collecting antiques.
She lived her faith in action through service to others at the First United Methodist Church. Rosemary threw herself into decorating the church for weekly services and the church's calendar for holidays. She loved to bake for the church's bazaars, Art in the Park and Sunday services.
Rosemary was a stay-at-home mom who was active in her children's activities. She was also a member of Eastern Star and was still able to work at Camille's Dress Shop, The Village Square and Herberger's for many years.
Rosemary's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her holiday gatherings were legendary, eagerly anticipated by family members and friends. Traditions were important. There was Father's Day at Shell Lake where everyone was expected to at least dip a toe in the cold lake. On the 4th of July weekend the extended family drove up to Barthel's Cabins where Grandpa Talbot would set off firecrackers for wake-up calls beneath the cabins. Being in a family of veterans, Memorial Day was an important day to celebrate. Her Louie's ham dinners were amazing.
She always had a warm smile and kind words for everyone she met. Her legacy of love and laughter for family and friends will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Brubaker officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour before the service. The church will hold a lunch after the burial.
