Ruben B. Casillas, a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator in the mining industry and a beloved figure in his community, passed away on July 18, 2025, in Miami, Arizona, the place where he was also born on November 9, 1934. Ruben's commitment to his work was matched only by his deep love for his family and friends.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Ruben proudly served in the Arizona National Guard, demonstrating his dedication to his country. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was camping with loved ones or enjoying a round of golf. His talents extended beyond the workplace, as he had a passion for carpentry, showcasing his creativity and craftsmanship.
Ruben's warm spirit and unwavering love for his family will be dearly missed. He is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa Casillas; daughters Lorraine Esparza and Terry Casillas; sons Ruben Casillas Jr., Joe Casillas, and James Casillas; and sisters Lupe Madrid and Helen Saucedo.
Ruben's legacy continues with 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, who carry forward his values and memories.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Joaquina Casillas, along with his brothers Robert, Rudo, Manuel, Dickie, and Tony. The bonds of family that Ruben cherished so deeply are now a testament to the strong foundation he built throughout his life.
A memorial service to honor his life will be held on August 16, 2025, at Lamont Mortuary of Globe at 2:00pm. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Ruben B. Casillas, a man whose life was filled with love, labor, and warmth.
