Ruby Smith Obituary

Ruby was born on July 31,1936. She was married for 66 years to Winfrey (Ed) Smith, who survives her. She is also survived by Barry and Pam Chaney and one grandson, John N. Chaney of Gainesville, FL.
Ruby was the daughter of the late James Freeman and Olta (Dotson) Freeman. She is survived by two siblings, Ben Freeman of Phelps, KY and Sandra Gourley of Amissville, VA.
She was preceded in death by five other siblings; Ruth, Ervin, Glenys, Roger and Bernard.
Ruby was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship in Pikeville, KY. Ruby retired from the Social Security Administration in Pikeville in 1986.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel, immediately followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Burial will take place at Mt. Memory Gardens in Huddy, KY with her brother, Ben Freeman officiating.
In lieu of flowers please contribute to the Gooslin Bottom Church in Phelps, KY or New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Pikeville, KY.
