Ruth Hobbs McDaniel, 90, of Pine Knoll Shores, passed away at her home on July 5, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church.
Ruth retired from BB&T as a Financial Center Manager, with 32 years of service in the savings and loan business including Mutual Saving and First Financial. She received a Graduate Degree from The Institute of Financial Education, Chicago, Illinois.
Ruth embraced the opportunity to explore the world, traveling to over 15 countries. She was a very caring and loving person. She was always available to her family and friends. Her motto in life was others first.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna McDaniel of Morehead City and grandson, William E. Boyette; son, Milton Lee McDaniel of Deerfield Beach, FL, and grandson, Michael Lee McDaniel and his wife, Chantal; grandson, Noah and granddaughter Melissa; cousin/son, Grayling Hobbs and wife, Sue, granddaughters, Deana and Amanda; great-grandsons, David, Demi, Kaleigh, Cole, Lije and Stratton; two great-granddaughters, Maeve Ruth and Ada Gray; and godmother of Stephen Sullivan.
Ruth was the daughter of Janie Fann and Rhoda McCullen Hobbs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton (Toby) McDaniel; brother, Donald Fann and sister, Marie Moore.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, where she was an active member.
