Ruth Dale (Sims) Tuel, 86, of Kitzmiller, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, April 11, 2025, and is now in the presence of her Lord.
Born on September 2, 1938, in Cumberland, Maryland, Ruth was the daughter of the late Evelyn F. "Sis" Sims. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence E. "Dink" Tuel, Sr., and her cherished great granddaughter, Kylee Rae Neely.
Ruth was a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and boundless compassion. She devoted her life to her family, friends, and community, always offering a warm smile, a kind word, or a helping hand. Her gentle spirit touched everyone she met.
A longtime member of the Kitzmiller Assembly of God Church, Ruth found great joy in worship and fellowship.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence Tuel, Jr. and Kim Durst, both of Oakland, Timothy Tuel and wife Nancy of Front Royal, VA, and Teresa Armstrong and husband Richard, Sr. of Kitzmiller; grandchildren, Jeremy Durst, Christopher Durst and partner Keri Gamble, Shawna Neely and husband Raymond, Richard Armstrong, Jr. and wife Michelle, Lawrence Armstrong, and Andrea Tuel and partner Robert Roles; great grandchildren, Evelyn Durst, Isla Durst, Matthew Armstrong, Parker Armstrong, Bryce Tuel, Teagan Neely, Dallas Neely, Kenzi Roles, Ellie Mae Roles, Robert Roles, Gavin Tasker, and Melanie Tasker; and great great grandchildren, Myla Neely and Josephine Neely, all of whom will cherish her memory and continue to live by her example of love and grace.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Kitzmiller Chapel on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 5 to 8 PM. Ruth's desire for cremation will be honored after her viewing. A private interment will take place at a later date in the IOOF Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV, where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Kitzmiller Lions Club, PO Box 635, Kitzmiller, MD 21538, the Kitzmiller Volunteer Fire Department, 249 E Main St., Kitzmiller, MD 21538, or Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
