Rutha Gibson Jarrard Obituary

Mrs. Rutha Jane Gibson Jarrard, age 88 of Fairview, passed away 5:30 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. Services for Mrs. Rutha will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. John Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bells Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Latham Funeral Home and from Noon Wednesday until time for the service. The service will be live streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Rutha was born August 24, 1936, in Todd County, KY. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at Hearthstone Place, worked at Elkton Apparel and retired from Flynn Enterprise having worked at the Elkton and Hopkinsville locations. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Fairview. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Reynolds Welch and Lola Bell Shanklin Welch, her first husband, Earl E. Gibson and her second husband, James F. Jarrard.

Survivors include her sons, James Gibson and Charles Gibson both of Fairview, her daughters, Brenda Settle of Clifty, Joyce Hall of Elkton, Barbara Hill of Fairview and Donna Sisk of Fairview, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
