Sabrina Nicole Backlund, 38, of Atlanta, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 4, 2024. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Sabrina, affectionately known to many as Bean or Breezy, was born November 25, 1985 in Greenville, South Carolina, daughter of Richard B. Backlund and Antonie Price Backlund. She was dedicated and passionate in everything she put her mind to from soccer, cycling, art, music and traveling. Sabrina was at home in the outdoors. Whether in the mountains or by the ocean she would often capture the subtle beauties of nature through her love of photography. She had a commitment for lifelong learning, education and for leadership and mentoring. She attended college at Lander University where she played collegiate soccer and formed lifelong friendships with her team and classmates. This commitment to education along with her meticulous nature would carry her to earn her masters, followed by her PhD in Communication and Media Studies. She had an incredible spark to her personality that was instantaneously recognizable to the many people who knew her professionally and personally. She was selfless in every sense of the word. Her love for her friends and family was fierce and unwavering. This was especially true for her niece, Madeline, and nephews, Ryan S. and Ryan B. She had great love for her dogs she shared her life with. Her dedication in her long career with Chick-fil-a was unmatched where she continued to grow personally and professionally. She lived her life committed to God and loved the community she worshiped with. Her light and laughter will be deeply missed and remembered by all the people she touched in her life.
In addition to her parents, Sabrina is survived by her siblings, Emily, Sarah and Ian Backlund.
