Sadie L Martinez, age 64, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 24, 1960, in Embudo, NM, Sadie was the beloved daughter of George and Clara Montoya. She graduated from Espanola High School in 1978 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in education from the College of Santa Fe and Masters from Highlands University. Sadie dedicated 32 years of her life to teaching elementary school students, leaving a lasting impact on countless young lives with her patience, warmth, and creativity.
Sadie was a devoted mother who raised her boys with deep love and constant support, always offering them unconditional love.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit, quick wit, and her ability to make anyone feel welcome. Her unwavering kindness and strength of character touched everyone who knew her.
Sadie is survived by her children: Phillip Martinez, daughter EzMae Martinez, his fiancé Vanessa Griego; daughters: Michelle, Remi, Mariah, and grandson Isaac. Bryan Martinez, his partner Shennen Cavazos, sons Roman and Nathaniel Cavazos; her brothers, Manny Montoya, and his wife, Maxine; Michael Montoya, and his wife, Connie; Eli Montoya, and his wife Debbie; sister, Cathy Mares and her husband Sam; sister-in-law Eileen Montoya; close friend Gary Summers. And many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Clara Montoya and her brother, George D. Montoya.
A Rosary will be recited Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. and a Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 14 Pr Road 1043, Velarde, NM 87582. The Burial will follow at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery. Any flowers will need to be sent to the Service.
There will be a Reception at the Parish Hall after the services.
