Saela Diaz Obituary

Saela Aguilar Diaz went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2024. She was born one of 16 children, on September 13, 1958, in Karnes City Texas, to the late Maria Perez and Guadalupe Aguilar Sr. in Runge, Texas. She was raised there and carried a great love for her small hometown.
Saela dedicated her life to work to provide for her five daughters. She worked as a CNA and CRA at Yorktown Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation for almost 15 years. Saela married her love, Moises, on May 23, 2009. Moises showered her with unconditional love, support and admiration.
She continued her career as a Laundry Aide supervisor for the Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation for the next almost 9 years. She retired on September 30, 2022. For the next several months, she adjusted to life at home and not having to work solely to provide.
Saela's most precious pride and joy were her grandchildren. She had 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The pitter patter of all those tiny feet under her roof on any given day was all she needed to light up her world. Those tiny little voices saying "I love you grandma" was everything to her. The daily video calls from her precious babies were something she looked forward to the most.
Saela was a woman with a beautiful heart, and an even more beautiful soul. She had a way of offering her support, her love and her faith to anyone seeking guidance. She never strayed from those in need. Her smile was contagious, and her laugh was powerful.
Saela was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Perez Aguilar and Guadalupe Aguilar Sr., and her brother, Johnny Aguilar Sr.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Moises Diaz Jr., daughters; Presila Torres (Jimmy) of Yorktown, Sally Rios of Yorktown, Sonia Perez (Joey) of Hutto, Crystal (Caleb) of Luling, Clarissa E. (Mark) of Runge, 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, siblings; Emma Longoria (Joe) of Runge, Billy Aguilar (Jackie) of Runge, Matilda Aguilar of Runge, Olga Miller (Jeffrey) of North Carolina, Guadalupe Aguilar Jr (Ella) of Houston, Lillie Briones ( Jeffery) of Runge, Nancy Torres (Tommy) of Runge, Rachel Lara (Longino) of Kenedy, Santos Salas (Raul) of Runge, Domingo Aguilar (Jeanette) of Runge, and Mary Castro (Johnny) of Floresville.
The visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22nd at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Runge. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23rd, also at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Runge Latin Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Johnathon Torres, Jason Guzman, Triston Torres, Nicholas Perez, Caleb Brandon II, Robert Sanchez, Camerin SanMiguel, Landon Torres, Grayson Torres, Valdemar Valdez Jr, Valdemar Valdez III, Alijah Valdez, Angel Palacios II, Nehemiah Brandon, Jaden Estrada, and Caston Torres.
