Deanna "Bee" Carter, born March 7th, 1939 in San Diego, California; Passed August 17th, 2025. She met Joe Carter in a San Diego movie theater where she worked as an usherette. They married and settled in Colorado where they raised their three children, Gladie, Darren and Heather. Bee was as described by her daughters, clever and funny. She was a homemaker for her entire marriage but she was also a skilled cosmetician and a successful Tupperware saleswoman, even earning herself a car.

Early in her life, Bee was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed doing ceramics so much that she opened her own ceramics studio. After her divorce, Bee lived a happy life on her own, surrounded by her friends and family. In recent years, she's been recognized as the unofficial Queen Bee of Ortega's Mexican Restaurant. She enjoyed her lunches at a table specifically reserved for her and made many friends with the patrons and regulars.

In her later years, her family would describe her as warm, loving and supportive. She was always there to offer hugs and kisses to her grandchildren, jokes to her friends and her children and words of encouragement and wisdom to anyone who would accept them. She enjoyed spending the afternoons shopping and sharing meals with her loved ones and was never one to turn down a good taco. She's someone no one could forget, a kind, amusing and sometimes clumsy woman, who will be greatly missed… And always, eternally loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 24th, 2025 at the Villa Canon Apartments Office/Rec Hall, 2400 E. Main , Canon City from 11 am – 2 pm. There will not be a "service". We ask that those who loved little Bee come and join her family for a taco bar and share your memories and stories. If you would like, please wear purple (her favorite color) in her honor.
