Sam Fields, 59, Sulphur, OK
In loving memory of Sam Richard Fields who departed this life in Sulphur, OK on July 28, 2023. Sam was born in Temple, Texas on March 20, 1964. You would never know he was a Texan, since he loved Oklahoma University (OU). Sam never met a stranger and everyone he knew loved him. He was notorious for riding his Harley through town.
Sam was the Transportation Director at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf. He was everyone's favorite bus driver, including those in the Sulphur High School Music Dept. and the Spirit of Sulphur Band.
Sam was preceded in death by his sister, Sassy (Ethel) Fields, his brother, Franke Joe Fields, and his father, Roland Frank Fields.
He is survived by his loving wife, Candy Fields. His children, Sassy (Leighann) Davis (Tim), Alyssa Fields, Samuel Fields, Rheanna Fields, Kyliee Fields, Nikki Bufkin (Shane) and stepdaughter, Kaci McCracken. He was a doting grandfather to Elijah and Violet Davis, and Jaxon Bufkin. He was the loving brother of Roland Clyde Fields, Henry Lee Fields (Maria), Lorrie Thomas (Lee Wayne), nephew Chance Thomas and was the beloved son of his mother, Loretta Hathaway.
The memorial service for Sam Fields will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, August 3, 2023, Calvary Baptist Church, 1000 West 12th Street, Sulphur, OK 74086. His cremains will later be escorted to the Walters Cemetery, Walters, OK.
