Samuel “Sammie” Oats was born on May 29, 1959, in Fairfield, Florida to the late Thelma Brooks and Samuel Oats, Sr.
He graduated from North Marion High School in 1977. He was a dedicated employee at Brooks Cement Contracting.
Sammie accepted Christ as his Savior.
Sammie departed his life on Thursday, July 31, 2025, in Ocala, Florida. He preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Arzetta Brooks, Easter Oats, Algerine Oats; brothers, Willie Brooks Jr., Mose Brooks, and Alfred Brooks.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Daughter: Felicia Oats, Ocala, Florida; Brothers: Sidney Roberts (Mary), Clearwater, Florida, Willie James Brooks, Fairfield, Florida, Alexander Herring (Margret), Anthony, Florida, Carnell Brooks (Debra), Ocala, Florida; Grandchildren: Kyrin Oats, Ashtyn Oats, Josiah Oats; Sister-in-law: Loretta Brooks, Fairfield, Florida; Aunt: Rosa Roberts Sarasota, Florida; Special Friend, Curtis Williams, and Wanda Davis; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
