Samuel Lee Strider, 73, of Goldsboro passed away Wednesday at Wayne U.N.C. Hospital. He is the son of the late Lacy Ray and Effie Graves Strider and husband of Kathy Parsons Strider. Mr. Strider was retired from the United States Air Force. After working for Ormond's furniture as a repairman for 10 years, Mr. Strider started his own business, Lee's Appliance Service in 2000. Mr. Strider enjoyed taking his wife shopping to flea markets.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, Mr. Strider is survived by his daughters, Ellen Samuel and husband, Fred of Asheboro and Eleanor Wade and husband, James of Mayodan; a sister, Betty Cross of Asheboro; a granddaughter, Nicole Gibson of Troy; and two great grandchildren, Daylen Thomas and Wyatt Freeman.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wayne County Animal Shelter, 1600 Clingman St, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or Wayne County Veteran Services, 2001 East Ash St., Goldsboro, NC 27533.
