Samuel Whited Obituary

Samuel Eugene Whited, of Ironton, MO, entered into rest on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 28 days. He was born October 21, 1950, in Ironton, MO, a son of the late Edward and Dolly "Marler" Whited. On November 16, 1990, Sam was united in marriage to Vickie (Nelson) Whited who survives. Also surviving are seven children, Eddie Whited, Robert "Bobby" Whited and wife Ashley, Ira Whited, Samuel Whited, John Whited and wife Beth, Joanna Whited, and Jerry Whited and wife Olivia; fourteen grandchildren, Natasha, Nicco, Isabella, Lilianna, Chance, Mac, Christian, Evan, Dezi, Braylin, Cora, Skylar, Aalayiah, and Tate; one sister, Marie Whited, and many more loving family members and friends. Sam is preceded in rest by his parents, a son, Joseph Whited, five brothers, Robert Whited, Hershel Whited, Grover Whited, Ralph Whited, and a baby brother in infancy; nine sisters, Francis T. Sisk, Linda Allera Whited, Virginia Whited, Betty Lee Whited, Dorothy Whited, Paula R. Whited, Goldie L. Whited, Marcella Whited, Mary L. Whited, Ruth Ann Harper, and a baby sister in infancy. Sam served his country with pride and honor in the United States Army. After his honorable service to his country, Sam went to work for Caterpillar as a heavy equipment operator. After his time with Caterpillar, Sam worked many different odd jobs and worked in the log woods cutting timber and firewood. He could work on anything and did his very best in all he did. Sam took a lot of pride in his work and had a work ethic that most don't see anymore. He cared deeply about his family and his friends and loved them unconditionally. Saw was a past member of the VWF Post in Ironton and Farmington, and attended Bethany Baptist Church. Samuel Eugene Whited was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, beginning at 1:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel. A Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am and lasting until the time of service at 1:00 pm, from the Cole Family Chapel. Interment will follow the services in the Cove Cemetery. Pastor Dan Pitchers will be officiating the services.
