Brenda Lynn Marusich, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, nurse, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025. Her humor, warmth, and humanity for others left an indelible impression on everyone she met.

Above all, Brenda was a God-fearing woman whose faith was the cornerstone of her life. She walked daily in God’s presence, praying faithfully for her loved ones, comforting the hurting, and sharing the hope of Christ with all who crossed her path. Her steadfast devotion and spiritual strength guided her through every joy and trial, making her a living example of grace and kindness.

Brenda lived her calling as a dedicated nurse, giving tirelessly to the care and comfort of her patients. Her compassion and selflessness earned her the love and respect of both colleagues and those she served.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Marusich (Travis Coker); her grandchildren, Hector and Leo; her brothers, Bryan Marusich (Elke Cumming) and Craig Marusich (Colleen); her stepson, Carl David Gilbert (Cecilia); and her nieces, Alexandra Hauser and Hailey Gladden. Her family was her greatest joy and the legacy she treasured most.

Brenda will be remembered for her boisterous, infectious laugh that could light up any room, and for the lifelong friendships she nurtured and held as dearly as family. She was proud to be an American, evident through her patriotism.

Our family is forever indebted to Jesus Chavez, Brenda’s beloved partner, for his unwavering commitment and care to Brenda’s well-being. We are also grateful for the hospice care Brenda received in her final days. In keeping with her wishes, donations in her memory may be made to Remarkable Hospice, 5959 Gateway Blvd W. Suite 460, El Paso, TX, 79925.

A Celebration of Brenda’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm, at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, TX, 79915. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor her extraordinary life.
