Sandra Sue Sloan Cottrell, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV (formerly of Teter Lake, WV and Enterprise, WV) went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. She was born November 8, 1942, a daughter of the late Woodrow and Margaret (Van Meter) Sloan. Sandy is survived by her daughters, Denise Cottrell of Taylorsville, NC and Donna Cottrell of Buckhannon, WV; a son Thomas (Butch) Cottrell, of Carr, CO; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, David (Bud) Sloan of Palo Alto, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Cottrell and a brother James Sloan. Sandy built her life around family, friends and church. She enjoyed playing fiddle, mandolin, piano and guitar. She also painted with oils, winning several ribbons in local exhibits. She enjoyed teaching bible studies in church. Her love of people and life has touched multitudes, but none more than her family. In honoring Mrs. Cottrell's wishes she will be cremated and there will be no visitation or services.
