Sandra Counts Obituary

Sandra Nadine Counts, daughter of the late Wilbur and Corrie Stokes, was born on October 1, 1949, in Trenton, New Jersey.
A lifelong Trenton resident, Sandra attended Trenton public schools and graduated from Trenton Central High School. She also graduated from Trenton State College with a degree in Education and fulfilled her call to become a teacher. Sandra thoroughly enjoyed working with the many students who sat in her classrooms from the early years at the day care center and Trenton State Prison to Wilson, Paton J. Hill and Paul Robertson Elementary schools as well as Hedgpeth Williams Middle School (formerly Jr. 2). Sandra enthusiastically shared her love of theater with her students by directing several shows throughout her tenure as a teacher. After many years working for the Trenton Public School District she retired in 2011.
Sandra was united in marriage to the late Marvin A. Counts on January 1, 1978. From this union they were blessed with one daughter, Lindsay M. Counts, who became their world. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.
Sandra was predeceased by her husband Marvin A. Counts, parents Wilbur and Corrie Stokes, her father and mother-in-law Homer and Lucille Counts, uncle and aunt Curt and Lillian Dalton, sisters Cynthia and Carolyn Stokes, brother in-law Levi Powell, nieces Atiya and Tonya Stokes and nephews Aaron Stokes and Alfonsie Holland. She leaves to cherish her loving memories of her daughter, Lindsay Counts, six sisters Oudomichu Holland, Angela and Crystal Stokes, Valentina Stokes-Powell and Debra and Willa Stokes. Dear friends Constance Moore and Karen Rowe, 14 nieces and nephews and a host of grand and great grandnieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and caring friends.
