CHURCH HILL- Sandra Kay Gilbert went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 19, 2025. She was born on March 18, 1957, to Verna (McLain) Gilbert and Thurman Clay Gilbert.
She was a resident of Hawkins County all of her life. She attended First Free Will Baptist Church of Morrison City. She loved to help in the choir. Sandra was an encourager who loved to be around people and make new friends. One of her passions was visiting nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She had compassion for the hurting. She also enjoyed going to a good old gospel singing. Sandra worked in three plants, the last one for almost thirty-one years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Verna (McLain) Gilbert and Thurman Clay Gilbert; grandparents, Leah (Booker) McLain, Thomas P. McLain, Neatis (Long) Gilbert, and Clay Carson Gilbert; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sandra is survived by several family members and friends.
Per Sandra's wishes, there will be no services. She wants you to remember the smile that she gave you.
