Buch Funeral Home - ManheimSarah E. (Gehman) Allen, 32, of Lancaster, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 17, 2025 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Sarah was so many things, but first and foremost, she was a daughter of Christ. She spread His light in every room she entered and impacted all she encountered by living her faith with every fiber of her being.
She was a beloved; wife, step-mother, daughter, aunt, sister, and best friend to many.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Greg and Karolyn Gehman (Nauman) and loving wife of John A. Allen. Sarah and John celebrated one year of marriage in June of this year.
In Sarah’s early years, she grew up and learned how to work hard on her family’s horse farm. She graduated in 2011 from Lititz Christian School. After graduation, she pursued her passion for Jesus through missions with YWAM, leading her to travel all over the globe while simultaneously building her photography business. Sarah was a creative entrepreneur who established a few small businesses of her own and always had a new idea in her pocket. She loved music, sang (loudly) everywhere she went, and recently began writing and recording her own music. Often the one to initiate a game night or gathering, Sarah fiercely loved her family and friends and the moments spent with them. It was never quiet when Sarah arrived at an event. She truly embraced life and people with so much passion, she shared her joy, wisdom and humor with everyone she met.
She attended LCBC Manheim Campus, and New Covenant Church, Ephrata.
Surviving in addition to her husband John, and her parents, Greg and Karolyn, are four brothers: Michael (wife Leah) Gehman, Chris Gehman, Joshua Gehman, Adam Gehman all of Lancaster, four sisters: Danielle Gehman of Manheim, Rebecca Smucker-West (husband Colin West) of East Earl, Rachael Gehman of Lancaster, Jessica (husband Ashton) Messner of Reinholds. Sarah is also survived by a stepson: Malakhi A. Allen, six nieces, four nephews, her maternal Grandparents: Charles and Betty Nauman of Manheim, her in-laws: Wesley and Delphine Allen of Sinking Spring, and Sister-in-law, Andrea (husband James) Ingram of Cleveland, OH. Preceding her in death is a brother-in-law, Nathan Smucker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sarah’s Celebration of Life Service at the LCBC Church, Manheim Campus, 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim, on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday August 15th from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. (Please use the South Auditorium Entrance). Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Sarah’s memory to The Healing Journey Foundation, C/O Lancaster Cancer Center, 703 Lampeter Road, Lancaster, PA 17602.
