Scot Haynes Obituary

Palmyra - Scot A. Haynes, Sr., age 67, passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, while surrounded by his family. He was born in Rochester, NY, to Gary and Jeannette (Fuller) Haynes. Scot was a devoted husband and proud father. He and Valerie were married for a happy and blessed 45 years, proudly raising their sons in the heart of Canandaigua.
Scot was a successful and hardworking individual with a passion for all music and a fondness for adventure. The most important thing to him was family. Any holiday, family gathering or memory created was cherished deeply by Scot. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, carpentry, antiquing, boating and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Valerie (Vanderwall) Haynes; caring mother, Jeannette Haynes; four sons, Frank Haynes, Michael (Shannon) Haynes, Scot Jr. (Renee) Haynes and Gary (Regina) Haynes. He adored his seven grandchildren, Nathan, Austin, Victoria, Hayleigh, Brayden, Reese, and Morgan and great-grandson, Jax. Scot was predeceased by his father, Gary D. Haynes in 2015.
The family extends loving thanks to Scot's caregiver, Ishmael "Ish" Nwaobia, for the excellent, compassionate care, as well as his friendship.
His memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 25, at 11am, St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Road, S.W., Suite 105
