Scott Bradley Adams, 66, of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Saint Louis University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 15, 1959, in Flint, MI, Scott led a life full of dedication, passion, and service to others. He built a successful career in newspaper advertising as a sales representative for both the Suburban Journals and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Earlier in his professional journey, Scott worked as a food and beverage manager and catering coordinator at Holiday Inn in Port Huron, MI, and later served as manager of the Holiday Inn Holidome.

Later in life, Scott found deep fulfillment during his 11 years with Goodwill Publishing, where he helped distribute educational children's books to first and third grade students. Though he called it the hardest job he ever had, it was also, in his words, the most rewarding-thanks to the joy it brought to children.

A devout Christian, Scott's faith was the foundation of his life. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast and a dedicated youth hockey coach in his younger years. He earned college degrees in multiple fields and was always eager to learn. His greatest joy, however, was his family-especially his beloved grandchildren, whom he cherished with all his heart.

Scott was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raleigh Fay Adams.

He is survived by his mother, Joan (nee Raymond) Cockerton of Grand Blanc, MI; devoted wife, Elizabeth "Beth" (nee Lucas) Adams, whom he married on July 17, 1992, in Grand Blanc, MI; his children: Chris Adams of Grand Blanc, MI, and Bradley (Adams) Lawrence of Port Huron, MI; step sons Kevin (Brittani) Wrigley and Keith (Tiffany) Wrigley, both of Collinsville, IL; four cherished grandchildren: Evan Wrigley, Grant Wrigley, Ethan Wrigley, and Brooke Wrigley; a brother, Rev. Raleigh F. (Diane) Adams, Jr. of Grand Blanc, MI; and two sisters: Robyn (Charles) Davey of Flushing, MI, and Tracy J. Greenfield of Grand Blanc, MI.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Raleigh F. Adams, Jr. Burial will take place at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville, IL.

Scott's memory will live on in the lives of those he loved, the children he inspired, and the many hearts he touched along the way.

Memorial donations may be made in the office at Barry Wilson Funeral Home and will be received during the visitation.
