Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory - Urbandale ChapelIt is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Scott Elliott, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Waukee, Iowa, at the age of 69. Scott left us due to natural causes.
Born on December 28, 1955, Scott was the son of Gaylon and Phyllis Elliott. He had a proud career at the University of Iowa and Abbott Labs, where he focused on instructional design. For many years, he worked to help shape the learning experiences of students and educators alike.
Outside of his professional life, fishing and boating brought him great joy. He found peace on the water, and these are the memories that his family and friends hold most dearly. He also loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. These hobbies have been passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Scott is survived by his ex-wife, Catherine, with whom he shared a lasting bond, and his two sons, Nicholas (Susan) and Joshua (Jennifer) of whom he was very proud. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren—Lucas, Zachary, Ryan, Cameron, and Weston—whose lives brought him great happiness. He is also survived by his brothers, Bruce and Brian, and his sister, Anne.
A visitation will be held to honor his life and legacy will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. memorial service at St. Paul Lutheran Church (2136 N Brady St, Davenport, IA 52803)
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local food pantry.
Scott’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family finds great solace that he is finally at peace.
