In Loving Memory of Scott Louis Gilberti
May 21, 1964 – June 22, 2025
Scott Louis Gilberti, 61, of Murrieta, California, passed away on June 22, 2025. Born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and raised in Bay Village, Ohio, Scott lived a life defined by strength, wisdom, faith, and a deep devotion to his family.
A proud United States Marine, Scott served four years as a Captain & Infantry Officer, earning distinctions including the Rifle Sharpshooter, Pistol Sharpshooter, and the Humanitarian Service Medal. After his military service, he continued to lead with integrity in the transportation industry, serving as a director and inspiring those around him with his unmatched work ethic and leadership.
Scott earned his Bachelor's Degree in History, a subject he loved deeply. He was a voracious reader and a walking encyclopedia of historical knowledge. He was passionate about fitness, loved to work out, and never turned down an opportunity to share a witty dad joke. He adored his family, doted on his French Bulldog Sophie, and found true joy in shared adventures from Hawaii to London to Jamaica.
A devoted Christian, Scott served as an elder in his church and lived his life as a brother in Christ. He believed in showing love through actions, whether helping his children, supporting his wife Celerina, or quietly guiding those around him. His presence was steady, his opinions were strong, and his heart was full of love.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Celerina Gilberti; his daughters, Annamae Gilberti, Sheila Lopez, and Tiffany Struebing; his mother, Felicia Gilberti; his brother, Brendan Gilberti; and his cherished grandpup, Sophie. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Gilberti.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6th at 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, 24651 Washington Ave, Murrieta, CA.
A military funeral honors ceremony will take place on Monday, July 7th at 1:15 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd Riverside, CA.
