Susan O’Reilly Rabuffo, 81, of Hingham, MA, passed away peacefully in her home on April 2, 2025.

Susan was born November 26, 1943 in Kingston, New York to Leonard Thomas O’Reilly and Kathleen Golden O’Reilly. She graduated from Anna Maria College in 1964 with her undergraduate degree and obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Manhattanville College in 1985. Susan married her husband, Bruce Rabuffo, at the age of 24 after their parents introduced them at Williams Lake. They were married for 57 years, renewing their vows at their golden anniversary at St. Paul’s Church in Hingham on June 24, 2017.

Susan and Bruce resided in Scarsdale, NY at the beginning of their marriage, where Susan started her career as an educator, teaching English at Scarsdale and Rye High Schools, and later became the Secretary of the English Department at Fox Lane High School in NY. They moved to Mahopac, NY and lived there for 17 years where they raised their three children and enjoyed fun times with neighbors on Eleanor Drive. They relocated to Cobham, Surrey in the UK in 1993 for Bruce’s career. Susan and Bruce enjoyed their life in England, traveling, attending Wimbledon and even meeting Prince Charles. During those years Susan also wrote a fictional book based on her Great Grandmother Golden Nana’s travels and family history. In 1995, they moved to Hingham, MA where they remained. Susan and Bruce enjoyed time on their boat “Summerplace” for many years in Quincy, MA. You would often find Susan sitting on the dock reading a book or talking to the dock neighbors.

Susan was a devoted mother and wife and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Susan was an excellent cook, always making every celebration special for her family. She had a love for the New York Times crossword puzzles, sitting at the kitchen table with her Planters Peanuts or big tin can of Charles Chips.

Susan was the beloved wife of Bruce Rabuffo and loving mother of Tara Rabuffo and her husband, Fernando Motta, of Lancaster, PA, Michael Rabuffo and his wife, Jennifer, of Norwell, and Kate Rabuffo of Boston, sister of the late Thomas O’Reilly and cherished Nonnie to Trey, Bayleigh, Liamh, and the late Ainsleigh.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, many loving family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 1-3 PM at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Hingham, MA.
