BAXTER CHAPEL - Seth Cody Shanks, a spirited young soul, left this world too soon on Monday, June 16, 2025, at his home in Baxter, TN, at the tender age of 12. Born on July 5, 2012, in Cookeville, TN, Seth embodied an adventurous spirit that drew everyone to him. His infectious laughter and boundless energy seemed to brighten every room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on family, friends, and classmates alike.

Seth was a beloved student at Upperman Middle School in Baxter, just completing 6th grade, where he excelled in his studies. Each activity brought him happiness and allowed him to share precious moments with friends and family.

He leaves behind a loving family who cherished him deeply. His father, Ethan Cody Shanks of Baxter, and mother, Ashton Smith of Crossville, TN, Cody will be dearly missed by his siblings, Kennedy Shanks, Taylyn, Annakin, Riley, and Callie Rednour, all of Crossville, whose lives were enriched by his playful nature.

Further extending his family ties, are his uncles Steven Shanks (Misty Buck), Kevin (Jennifer) Shanks, as well as great-uncles and aunts Larry (Kelly) Shanks and Pat (Ken) Klippen. The echoes of cousin playtimes will forever keep his memory alive alongside Jax, Gunnar, Waverly, Katelyn, Oliver, and Cody Shanks, and Kate and Kyle Wilson.

Preceding Seth in death were his great-grandparents, Roy Shanks, John and Martha Dunbar, and great-uncles Johnny Dunbar and Chuck Shanks.
