In Loving Memory of Alexis Sophia Blaeuer

December 17, 1980 – September 16, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alexis Sophia Blaeuer, who left this world on September 16, 2025, at the age of 44. Born in Columbia, Missouri, Alexis spent her life spreading love, joy, and strength to all who knew her. Growing up in mid-Missouri, Alexis dedicated herself fiercely not only to her friends and family but also to many social causes she held near to her heart. Alexis was a lifelong advocate for children's wellness, even serving as a valued volunteer staff member at a domestic shelter in her hometown. As an adult, she made her home in metro Atlanta where she built a life rich with family, laughter, and lasting memories. Alexis left a shimmering trail of deep friendship everywhere she went, including her workplace, her local gym, and the places she traveled with her close friends.

Alexis is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Hughey, with whom she shared eight wonderful years and a loving marriage since July 2023. Alexis shared a precious relationship with Michael's family and is lovingly remembered by his children, Necole Williams-Hughey, Jayden Lanza, and Shawn Lanza, as well as grandson, Logan James.

Her legacy continues through her family: her mother, Mary Susan Blaeuer; her beloved aunts, Margaret Blaeuer and Carol Eby; uncle Robert Blaeuer; her sister and brother-in-law, Adrini and Seth Fobes; her brothers and sister-in-law, George Egejuru, Devin Smith, and Brian Egejuru; and especially through her nieces and nephews, Sayler Egejuru, Charles Fobes, and Alex Fobes. Being called "Auntie" was one of the most profound joys in Alexis's life. She never missed an occasion to spend time with her family, bringing warmth, laughter, and, of course, her trademark smile. Beyond her immediate family, she was cherished and will be missed by countless others, from colleagues to cousins to her inseparable crew of college best friends. She was truly a woman whose nurturing spirit brightened everyone around her.

Professionally, Alexis built a meaningful career in finance, specializing in customer service automation solutions. She was admired for her dedication, empathy, and innovation in her work.

Outside of her profession, Alexis embraced life fully. She found joy in her Zumba family who misses her deeply. She and Michael loved spending quality time together doing anything from hiking to weekend errands to huddling up and enjoying a movie. Alexis also always made time for travel, creating treasured memories (and lifelong laughs) that will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. She also remained deeply committed to her community, always ready to offer her time, her heart, and her help.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 3:00 pm, in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory. The family will gather with friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm. Following the service a reception will be held at the funeral home, where friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly remarkable woman.

Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and deep connection-a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Flowers are greatly appreciated. Alternatively, donations can be made on Alexis's behalf to Rainbow Village, a not-for-profit safe housing community for local families experiencing challenges. https://rainbowvillage.org/donate/
