Sharon Elizabeth Peavy Willis Obituary

Mrs. Sharon Elizabeth Peavy Willis, age 84, of Bristol, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Sharon was born on May 24, 1941, to Carlos and Vergie (Holley) Peavy in Blountstown, FL. Sharon was raised in the Scotts Ferry community and, after marrying Ralph, moved to Bristol, FL. She was saved at the age of 14 and spent the rest of her life serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as she said, "filled with the Holy Ghost and fire." She cherished her time as a Sunday School teacher for 9- to 12-year-olds, shaping young lives for Christ as well as teaching Bible study in the Nursing Home Ministry for many years. Although she never pursued her desire to become a nurse, she was a natural caregiver, being heavily involved in caring for her parents, in-laws, and her sister, several of whom she cared for in her home. She loved cooking and especially baking, including family favorites, sour cream pound cake, and lemon cheesecake, as well as doing arts and crafts. She was known for giving heartfelt greeting cards to those she knew and loved in which she often included an encouraging scripture. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herman Ralph Willis; her parents, Carlos and Vergie (Holley) Peavy; sister, Linda Yvonne; brother, Carlton and his wife Delber (Debbie); sisters-in-law Debra (Debbie) Peavy and Mary Morgan; and her beloved aunt, Shirley Smith. Survivors include two sons, Rodney Willis and his wife, Sandy of Clarksville, FL, and Grant Willis and his wife, Brandy of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Marlon Peavy; and two grandsons, Jordan Willis and Drew Willis. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Patsy Folks and Reverend Coy Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm (CST) until service time at 3:00 pm (CST). Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha, FL. All arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
