Sharon Kay (Bailey) Hughes, 70, of Bath passed away June 28, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 13, 1955, the daughter of James "Floyd" Sr. and Mary (Charles Allen Sr.) Bailey. Sharon married Russell Gary Hughes on March 2, 1974, and Russell Hughes preceded her in death on January 3, 2019.
She is survived by her two daughters; Jessica Hughes and Jennifer (Mike) Richardson; one bonus son, "Mikey" Masten; grandchildren, Josh (Jayme Canada) Uncapher, Keenan Taylor, Ethan Richardson; great-grandchildren, Tinsley Uncapher, Arabella "Bella" Dawson, Hazel Uncapher; siblings, Allen (Kathy) Dye, Karen (Rick) Showalter, Jason (Sarah Cambell) Hughes, Michael (Amanda) Hughes, Charla (Rick Johnson) Bailey, Mary Anne (Robert) Charles, Charles Allen Bailey Jr.; and extended family; Lloyd "Poogie" Hughes Sr., Bertha Hughes, Ronnie (Karen) Hughes, Faye Hughes, Trina (Charlie) Pratt, Janice (Paul) Stephens, Lloyd (Melody) Hughes Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her siblings; Merry Gay (surviving spouse David) Pierce, James Floyd "Sarge" (Carol) Bailey Jr., Jon (surviving spouse Kelly) Bailey, Mary (Charles Allen Sr.) Bailey, James "Floyd" Bailey Sr., Pat Bailey, Kevin Bailey, Richard Bailey; nephews, Jay Dye, Jon Michael Bailey, and extended family members; Russell Hughes (beloved husband), Lenny Hughes, Robert Hughes.
Sharon went to and graduated from Havana School District. In her teen years she worked at the Lawford Theatre and Drive-In Theater in Havana. In her professional career Sharon obtained her C.N.A, where she practiced her passion of taking care of people in the surrounding nursing homes of the Mason County area. She also practiced these skills as a Private Aid at Walker Nursing Home, and a Telemetry Tech at Mason District Hospital in Havana, where she retired in July of 2012, and spent the rest of her years happily with her family.
No formal services will be held for Sharon Hughes. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family Jessica Hughes). Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
