Sharon Lee Lewis, 90, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. She was born May 31, 1934 in Evansville, IN to the late, Joseph and Esther (Stock) Hisch.
Sharon was a strong, resilient woman who faced life's challenges with determination and grit. She was owner and operator of Lewis Inc. with her husband, George. A woman of faith, she was a longtime member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church in Evansville, IN. She enjoyed reading and treasured visits with her family, always finding joy in their company. In particular, The Hisch Annual Thanksgiving was a cherished tradition that brought together generations of family members for a warm and joyous celebration.
She was also an active member of the Friday Afternoon Card Club and the Wednesday and Friday Clabber Club, where she shared many laughs and good times with dear friends. Sharon's strength, love, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, George Edwin Lewis; her father, Joseph Hisch; her mother, Esther Stock Hisch; her sister, Betty Hisch Borum; and her brother, Gary Hisch.
Sharon is survived by her loving children, Connie (Jim) Joyce of The Villages, FL, Greg (Debbie) Lewis of Mt. Vernon, IN, and Terri Lewis of Mt. Vernon, IN. She was a devoted grandmother to many grandchildren, Kimberly (Heath) Watson, Sean (Karen) Joyce, Jason (Allison) Lewis, Scott (Brittany) Lewis, Derrick (Randa) Carr, Jeremy (Aubrey) Hall; many more great-grandchildren, Jacob Watson, Joshua (Emme Frattarelli) Watson, Caleb Watson, Abigail Watson, Hannah Carr, James Joyce, Anna Joyce, Alissa Lewis, Addisyn Lewis, Julian Hall and one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild, Willow Watson. Sharon is also survived by several cherished nieces and nephews.
Private services to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Avenue Presbyterian Church, 418 N. First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710.
