MORTON – Sharon K. Lynch, 84, of Morton, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Heartis Village Peoria surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 6, 1940, in Waverly, Iowa, to Darrel and Verona (Schutte) Forsman.
Sharon was the loving wife for 64 years to her husband, John (Jack) Lynch of Morton; dear mother to her children, Jeff (Kim) Lynch of Morton, Linda (Dennis) Tompkins of Morton, and Kelly (Patrick) Sundstrom of Peoria; and a proud grandmother and great grandmother. Sharon is survived by her sisters, Marleen (Stan) Moffitt of Boone, IA, and Julie Farland of Clear Lake, IA. She was preceded in death by one brother, Darrel Forsman.
Sharon attended New Hampton High School (IA), and the University of Iowa. After moving to Morton, Sharon worked at Witzig's in Morton and at Libby's. Sharon enjoyed playing golf, bridge, Mahjong and spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Visitation will take place at the church on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and 9:00 to 9:45 am on Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.
Sharon's family sends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heartis and VITAS hospice for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, or We Care of Morton (wecareofmorton.com).
