Sharon Georgene (Lackey) Smith of Salem, Arkansas, passed from this life on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Sturkie, Arkansas. Sharon was born on August 11, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri to Billy Ray Lackey and Esta Lee (Staggs) Lackey.
Sharon was united in marriage to Zane Smith on May 3, 2011, in Salem, Arkansas. Sharon spent her working years as a Loan Officer at several locations including First National Banking Company and Bank of Salem. She enjoyed gardening, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals, and watching her grandchildren's sports events. Sharon was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and a member of the Salem First Baptist Church.
Sharon leaves to mourn her passing, husband, Zane Smith of Salem, Arkansas; son, Jesse Steward; stepsons, Jake Smith (Kathy) and Zack Smith; stepdaughter, Lindsey Coursey (Ricky); grandchildren, Dalton Steward, Colton Steward, Ashton Chastain, Alec Chastain, and Abyl Steward; step grandchildren, Calvin Smith, Lydia Smith, Kasen Smith, Adalynn Smith, Lathan Smith, Rickey Coursey, and Emery Coursey; brothers, Larry Lackey (Annie) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Jerry Lackey (Toni) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Eddie Lackey (Trish) of Odessa, Missouri; sister, Brenda Willett of Kansas City, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents (Billy Ray Lackey and Esta Lee Lackey) and her daughter (Jennifer Steward).
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Jay Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be at Stateline Cemetery in Moko, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Jason Willett, Chad Willett, Walter Nelson, Darryl Cochran, Chris Taylor, and Thadnel Willett. Honorary Pallbearers are Dalton Steward, Colton Steward, Ashton Chastain, Alec Chastain, and Abyl Steward. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
